Steinmayer 234

Post by dre8888 »

I have an old two pedal ornate Steinmayer piano with the number 234 aong the top back. I am interested in finding out more about it and what it may be worth, but i cant find anything on the net. I have attached some shots.
If anyone can shed some light on this piano it would be appreciated.

regards

Two pedals is the normal arrangement. Very little is known about Steinmayers, who were operating by 1883, but I would guess this was a piano of the 1914 war period. Many Steinmayer pianos have 4-digit serial numbers, but 5 digits is more likely to be found somewhere. It won't help you at all! Nobody can guess the value or condition of a piano without tuning it and inspecting it.
