Bachmann upright ??

Post by ian2144 »

Hi Folks,

First Post, First Piano, it's a Bachmann upright (family.heirloom). It has been in storage for over a year and have been advised that we should give it time to adjust to it's new surroundings. I appreciate that it will need to be tuned - would it be best to give it time to settle down or should we get a tuner in sooner rather than later. A few of the keys appear to be sticking and again not sure if it is best to try playing it or leave it alone until it has been checked over. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ian ?

Good advice given. Leave it for about a week - the warmer environment will start to shrink some of the key parts back to normal. The odd one may need to be eased during tuning if any stick. No problem in playing the piano even now; if its playable? - just frustrating when keys stick!!
