Holder Brothers Ltd.
Post by markengelkens »
Hello,
I bought a Piano from the brand Holder Brothers Ltd. I'm about to overhaul the piano.
While working on it, disassemble the parts, I was impressed by the craftsmanship. Also it woke my interest about the origin of the piano.
How old it is, where does he come from...
On the net I can not find anything about this manufacturer.
I only have the numbers and some pictures.
Can anyone help me to learn more about this piano.
The numbers are.
On the left: 8873G
On the right 1138G 2282G
Holder Brothers Ltd framed on the paino key lid in goldcolour
Great regards

Holder Brothers became Ltd. around 1888, and were still going in the late 1900s. As far as I am aware, they were retailers, and did not make the pianos. It is not possible to date them by numbers, can you upload some photos?

"Really good condition" is not something you can tell from the outside of an old piano, you need to get a tuner to check it over. Otherwise, I think the item above yours answers your question. If you could upload some images of the whole piano, or email them to me, this may tell us more.
