Chas Cadby and Sons piano
Post by evergreen21 »
Hello, my husband and I own a Chas Cadby and Sons piano (serial number 18484, L&H 5935) and we would like to know firstly, it's history and secondly, if we could offer it to an interested organisation or individual.
Many thanks, Gill

As far as the date is concerned, Cadby & Co. became Cadby & Sons in 1874, and had changed back to Cadby & Co. again by 1878, so your piano was made close to 1876. The L&H number would be a retailer's stock number, perhaps Lyon & Hall, Brighton for example. If so, they would have sold it secondhand at a much later date.
