Depends what part of the world you live in. I have a few wooden frame piano on my round well you will find they will have some metal supports or a 3 quarter iron frame.
Tuners in the USA have problems with old uprights because of the way they tune pianos, they like to use a long muting strip and you can’t use one on the old pianos with ease. In Europe we tend to use wedges to must the strings
