Kingswood piano history

Post by Kingswood »

Hello Mr. Kibby.
My name is Eliane, I am from Brazil and my parents give a Kingswood London piano, 34 years ago. I dont have any document about the piano, only two labels insede, one say Manchester Industry Exportation 1910 and, the other Mande in England. I hope you can help me to find anything about this kind of instrument. I can send a picture if help.Thank you very much.

Many old pianos have fictitious names made up by the retailers and put onto pianos they sell. These pianos were bought in from anonymous wholesalers, and unless there are any clues inside, it is not always possible to identify the real maker. "Kingswood" is thought to be one of these aliases, and we have no record so far of a real maker of that name.

Seen a few of the years very similar to Kemble pianos.
