Bansall Grand Trapwork
Hello, glad I found this site--
A few words about me--- I am an independent piano technician in the latter years of my working days (age 58, hope to have 10 more years in me) and I'm glad to have found this site!
I am looking forward to the discussions, but have a problem with a friend's Bansall sustain pedal trapwork. There is a long leaf spring ( it runs from front to back, under the keybed) that the lifter rod contacts. However, the rod does nothing to move the spring (attached to the pitman) and as a result no sustain is provided. Has anybody seen this trapwork before? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, flat5er (real name Dave)

Barrie,
Thanks for the reply-- I'll see if I can get something posted some time soon. The piano owners have two small children (too young to use the pedals yet) so I'm hoping to get the sustain working when the kids grow a bit.
Dave
