Brinsmead piano - 1948?
Post by a.thompson »
We have recently inherited a John Brinsmead upright piano. It has the serial No. S4659. Can anyone give me an idea of its age? It is in good condition. Alf

The number you quote is not a Brinsmead serial number, is the "S" really there? It sounds more like a dealer's stock number. See the articles on Numbers and Datemarks on the PianoGen website, and also the comments below.

OOps. It is probably 84659 and Inside it has the word Schwander.Bill Kibby wrote:The number you quote is not a Brinsmead serial number, is the "S" really there? There is also an old transfer with a medalion on it and the words Legion of Honour.
Cheers from down under

Number 84659 suggests 1948, but see the articles on "Numbers" & "Datemarks" at
