piano inheritance

HI VERY NEW TO THIS AND CANT SEEM TO NAVIGATE AROUND SITE PROPERLY,SO FORGIVE ME IF I AM IN TOTAL WRONG PLACE TO ASK A QUESTION.BUT I HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN UPRIGHT PIANO AND JUST WOULD LIKE TO KNOW A BIT MORE ABOUT WHAT I HAVE BEFORE I START SPENDING MONEY ON IT.
ITS A BERRY AND WHEN OPENING LID IT SAYS 'NATHANIEL BERRY 9093 ON A METAL PLATE INSIDE' IT ALSO HAS TWO CANDLE HOLDERS ON FRONT ASWELL.ANY HELP ON AGE OR VALUE ETC WOULD BE BRILLIANT.MANY MANY THANKS PETE.

Wile N Berry did make some nice little pianos, they are getting a bit old. Your first port of call is getting a piano tuner out to see if the piano is sound, no matter what we say on here we do not have the piano in front of us to inspect

1903, if Pierce piano atlas is right. Barry is DEFINITELY right - get a tuner in; if they think it isn't worth doing s/he'll tell you.
