Information wanted about D'este Piano's

Post by noellloyd »

Hi, I've played on a few D'ESTE Pianos and have just bought one and would like to know more about them. The ones I have played on have been modern, possibly 80's, have a brass plaque on the front with D'ESTE. Upright, smaller than average.

Any scraps of info will do. D'este =Italian? meaning of the east?

Thanks,

Noel.

I'm assuming that you mean 1980s? I am more at home with the 1880s and 1780s, so I can't offer you any words of wisdom on anything this modern, except to mention that, of course, it appears to be one of those many made-up names that tries to link with a famous composer, in this case Liszt.

I am curious as to why so many people think that the word "pianos" should have an apostrophe in it?
