Justin Browne - London (Piano)
Hi
I have recently become the new owner of the family heirloom Piano that has been in the family for years and years and I would love to know how old it is and any history.
It is a Justin Browne - London (upright). When I open the lid at the top of the Piano it says in the lid (Justin Browne, sole sale concessionaires J B Cramer & co LTD and warranted by them)
It has a number 63259 if this helps?
It also has a badge inside the Piano saying BY SPECIAL APPOINTMENT TO H.M THE KING OF PORTUGAL.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Paul

By 1914, Cramer & Co. had taken over the manufacture of "Justin Browne"
pianos, which might then bear Cramer's address, 139 New Bond Street,
and conform to Cramer serial numbers. Yours may be 1929. Cramer had
supplied a piano to the King of Portugal, and this is mentioned on
hundreds of their pianos.
