I need a good adult learners book for a customer who has no knowledge of music but is desperate to learn.
Tied and tested suggestions please

The Complete Piano Player by Kenneth Baker. Either in five or six individual books or as an unsatisfactory fat paperback omnibus edition which doesn't like staying open on the music desk, particularly if there are no book holders! Excellent method for self-taught pianists, using songs they know (Abba, Elvis, Beatles, folk songs, etc.), no fairies dancing all over it, doesn't patronise and doesn't go too fast either.

I agree with Gill. My brother taught himself the basics from that book (fat paperback version) and it is very well written - ideal for an adult beginner.

Many thanks for the advice.
My punter is happy and I've got one for myself!
