HPL - What brand is this?

Post by djriki »

Can anyone tell what brand of piano is this? It has no labels, only inside logo looks like HPL. It might come from Germany. All I can do is just post these pictures:

No, I'm guessing. It could be Hupfeld of Leipzig or almost anything. "Limited" was in use in the late 1800s, "Ltd." tends to be into the 1900s. This piano is unlikely to be much later than the 1914 war. Have a look at pianogen.org

If you know how to remove the action safely, it may be marked with the action makers' name and number, and I may be able to date this.
