Right, I'm committed now. First lesson booked for Monday 27th
I didn't go for the teacher at the end of my garden as his phone isn't accepting calls, so went with a lady called Joanne who's just round the corner anyway. Just having the initial lesson then we'll see where to go from there.

Only 50 off!
The number 11 is fairly close as it stops at the Yew Tree. About a 15 minute walk from there. She normally teaches from 1700-1800 and at weekends.

She does work at a school, so probably a bit of teaching externally helps pay the bills.

I got the same for £7.50, mind you they are offering a free laptop with the £15 per/month deal now.

Lesson was fine, I'm working through some different stuff to what I've learnt already (actually using more than 1 finger on the left hand!). Got another lesson booked for Thursday as the following Monday is the bank holiday.

I cancelled the 2nd lesson due to work commitments, but Jo is fine. Rearranged to next Thursday instead. Anyway, think I've cracked the 2 small pieces I was reading from the book. However co-ordination has disappeared tonight, that's probably due to the bunged up nose and the 1/2 bottle of red.

Good to see fiona is back. Must admit, I might need to look at exercises. My hands feel a little stiff today. No pain, no gain I guess

Ta, was hoping that Villa would've got 4th place this season. Still nice to be almost there. Should be an interesting season of 4-0 defeats ahead! We need some defenders me thinks.

Idiot and football seem to go hand in hand now, I stopped going mainly because of the idiots.
No chance of seeing Louise there, she's not back from maternity leave until November!
Booked lesson 3 for next week, trying some difficult stuff the week. Probably made a bit trickier by a drill bit slipping and landing firmly in the tip of my index finger. Though it not used that much for the piano at the moment.

Right, thought I'd update the lessons.
Well, my left hand seems to be coping with things but really surprised at my right hands inability to work properly.
Anyway, things are coming on well. Only learning basic stuff still, but it's still a lot to take in. I think my sight reading has improved a great deal, though I do still lose it completely and have rather long rests!
Another bonus is I've actually finished Halflife 2 so I might get a bit more practice in

Right, I suppose I should update this.
Still having the lessons, things seem to be moving on. Getting the hang of reading now, though still have to take time get my my hands right before starting. Current pieces, although still basic are getting my fingers moving a bit more.
Hoping my bad shoulder/neck will clear before Thursdays lesson.

Bad neck/shoulder cleared in time. However bad back developed during the lesson
Still only one thing to try this week, currently it sounds very crap, so I give it miss tonight and try tomorrow.

Nothing for this week as I had to miss the lesson cos I wasn't feeling great also was in a meeting as well. Anyway a break for few weeks as Jo is getting married (today I think) and off for her honeymoon. So congrats to my teacher Jo, and the 3 week break will give me time to practice

Not got anything from grade 1 yet, I don't think i'm up to it. We'll see, I need to practice what i've learnt more, timing is still all over the place at the moment. Currently got 5 simple pieces which i'm trying at the moment. 2 are fine, the other 3 will be done soon. Once i've cracked them I'll move on to the next sections to try other bits.
Kofter Kebab, sounds good
Must try a bit more variation to my Kebabselections. Though tend to stick with fresh Shish Kebabs at the moment (and lovely spicy chutney as well - much to my wife's annoyance)

Did you try again?
I'm still on the lookout for a piano stool. Though in no hurry yet as I'm still finishing off the loft conversion....
Just getting the plasterer in on Thursday, so I should be able to start to finish (if that makes sense)
On another note, I can't recall ever going on either the 11 or 8 bus. I was more of the Coventry Road bus user (57, 58, 60, 900).
Though do try to avoid the bus now, not a big fan of crap drum and bass through a mobile phone speaker.

Shows how long it is since you took the bus - no smoking now, thank God (on behalf of all us asthmatics)... Now you can be upstairs with all the nutters and the old ladies who moan about their bad legs/back/arthritis/rheumatics/lumbago, but can still get upstairs...

Thought it was closed, there is a To Let sign above. Maybe they're just not renewing the lease.

Could be moving to smaller, cheaper premises rather than selling up. Hard times...
