Yamaha YDP S30 vs P85
Post by johnuttley99 »
I'm looking for a compact digital piano for my daughter who is at Grade 3 and a promising pianist. I have very little space. I have been looking at the p85 but yesterday viewed a ydp s30 that she liked. How do they compare, especially in terms of keyboard action? Is there anything else in the same price range I should consider?
Re: Yamaha YDP S30 vs P85
Their specs are very similar. They have the exact same type of keyboard action (GHS) and have the same 6W sound output. Main differences then: The P85 has 10 as opposed to the 6 standard voices of the YDP. Having said that, the YDP has three pedals whereas the P85 is really a portable digital piano and needs to have a pedal ordered if it doesn't already come with its FP4!
If you are sitting within the £400-500 price bracket, these are your best options.
