Soundboards are almost always wooden, "birdcage" is an american term for the overdamper actions which were normal everyday things in London for a very long time. Kirkman was a famous maker, and anyone trained at his factory would be proud to advertise "from Kirkman & Son". I know of the Priestley firm at Hampstead Road, although you are spelling it differently. He was not at 101 until after 1870, so a complete absence of iron frame is surprising.
