usually a large measure of whisky, some honey, a bit of lemon juice and some hot water.

a nice twist is whisky, crabb's green ginger wine, spot of honey and some hot water (not a lot of water, just enough to warm it). This one is called a whisky mac and it will blow your head off never mind cure the cold! (talks from bitter experience. . . .well, it wasn't that bitter, i just passed out!)

Fill a mug 3/4 full with boiling water.
Add a couple of teaspoons of honey.
Add a couple of teaspoons of lemon juice (or orange if you prefer)
Find the whisky bottle and add a generous measure to the above.
The hot toddy is now at just the right temperature to drink.

Enjoy :D

... if you can afford the Guinness.

I'm just back from a holiday in Norway - we stopped at a well-known Irish pub in Oslo, for a pub lunch. I didn't drink as I had a car, but they wanted £7 a pint for Guinness
