Horatio Dawson Pianoforte Maker Wood Green

Post by Hillview22 »

Hi

I am looking for information. My Great Great Grandfather Horatio Dawson was a music dealer and pianoforte maker with a shop in Wood Green's High Road in the early 1900's. He retired in the 1920's. I am told he made pianos from 1913 onwards. I was wondering if any of the forum members have ever heard of him, or his pianos. It is a long shot but I thought it would be worth a try! I would naturally love to see one, or better still one day own one!

Kind Regards

Michelle

I have quite a number of piano firms on file named Dawson, with first names including, Henry, Richard, Inhumas etc., but none so far are Horatio Dawson. I'll see what I can find.

The only reference I can find is

1911 Horace Dawson, 64 High Road,Wood Green N.

We have no evidence that he ever made his own pianos.
