Action adjustment
I bought a Yamaha P121. Since having it and played other pianos, I've come to realise that my piano is not as perfect as I though.
> Keys are a bit on the heavy side. The retailer said that they would "loosen up" with use but after a year, this hasn't really happened.
> Piano is quite loud and there is little distinction between the sound when using the soft pedal and when playing it without.
We had to move the piano a couple of weeks ago to lay a new carpet so before I call the tuner to retune the piano ( ), is there anything else I can get him to do while he is working at the piano.

The last two need to be done be a good tech and will cost the first takes about 1.5 hours
Tone
He can tone it down

Check centres and ease keys are important and i think this is where the problem is. I probably wouldnt go down the route of changing key weights, this is more with fine grand regulating and very rare to do unless new heavier/lighter hammers have been used.
Teflon the butt leathers is also recommended. Also the dammper spoons need looking at, they could be lifting too early ( well check all regulation in fact).
