Chicago Cottage Piano

Post by DESTRADA »

I recently purchased a piano and was told it was about 150 years old. I have searched for a serial number with no luck. The only numbers I have been able to locate are inside. This is an upright piano and on the inside of the piano key cover it has CHICAGO COTTAGE PIANO - the only nuimbers I can find are 1665 and 7273. I have searched the web regarding vintage pianos but the only thing I have come up with is at the Vintage Piano Shop web page. There is a picture of a Schomacker victorian upright piano circa 1865 - the picture is identical. If you could plese help me with this or refer me to other info available I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

No dates of their early serial numbers are available, can you email me some photos?

The Chicago Cottage Organ Company eventually became The Cable Company. A Cable serial number would be about 1887.
