W. Lutz, Vienna
Post by Leonie Lee »
Hi, I recenlty have had a beautiful piano left to me by a friend that passed away. All I know about this piano is that it is steel frame and has a plaque that reads the following:
"Maker to his Imp: Majesty Emperor of Austria W.Lutz, Wien"
If anyone is able to provide me with any sort of information regarding the plaque, i will be very appreciative.

"Wien" means Vienna, which is where Lutz was based. He was maker to the Emperor, and so would have mentioned it on every piano he made from the moment he was honoured. All I know is that Lutz was gone by 1911. We have no particular access to Viennese information.
