Ludwig & Co NY

Post by Phil P »

I am interested in any information (age, etc)you may have regarding a Ludwig & Co NY upright piano Serial # 75959, Double Repeating Action, New Scale. The only other marking is Perry, NY. Would this have been the dealer? Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

The number suggests 1910, we don't see them this side of the ocean.

I have a similar piano as mentioned above that my Grandmother bought at an estate sale years ago. I was unable to find a specific date on it, but it does have a label with Ludwig Piano Co Paris 1900 and Buffalo 1901 trademarks. This label is in the center of the piano when I open up the top lid. It also has a sticker from Cox Piano in Knoxville, TN USA covering the lower part of it. Apparently this is where it was sold orginally maybe. To the left of this label is a brass colored plaque which I assume is the serial number and it is #57384. I was wondering if you could give me some information on possibly how old it is and if it would be worth? I would classify it as in "fair" condition, but apparently the previous owner had painted it an antique white which may diminish it's value. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the info Bill! Any idea where would I find someone in the Nashville, TN, USA area to give me a better idea of it's value and age?

I have a baby grand piano that my mother left me. It is a Ludwig & Co, New York. It has a label inside that says Paris 1900, Buffalo 1901. SN# 107765 . I would love to know more about the pianos age and actual manufacture location.
