Yamaha U1D vs U3C

Post by Ida Jooste »

Hello Barrie and others,
I have lived in Kenya for a year, and will be here another two years. Can no longer bear it without a piano, but the choice here is very limited.
I can get a Yamaha upright U1D or U3C, both 40 years old, both for about 120 sterling pound. Which should I choose?

Thanks,

Ida Jooste

The U3 should be the better one but at 40 years old there could be problems with both of them

Keeping them in tune in Kenya will be interesting there are tuners outthere they will thinner on the ground than in the UK
I would seek one out and get them to give it the once over

its the things that get in side the piano you have to watch as they can eat it up

They're old, but at that price I think I'll move to Kenya. How can you go wrong!?
