Herrburger-Schwander
I have a Herrburger-Schwander piano which is in good working shape. We are downsizing and I may have to let it go. The only information I could find beside the metallic plate inside the piano front panel (French repeating action, Herrburger-Schwander, Paris & New York) which is with the brand name is a serial number 20487. Anyone could help to determine age and approximate market value. Thanks

Herrburger-Schwander did not make the piano, they made the action - the working parts of the notes. Apart from suggesting a date before 1920, it tells us nothing about the piano. The number does not seem to be a high enough Schwander number, unless there is a digit missing, and so it is no use without the maker of the piano, and maybe not then. Have a look at the Datemarks page at www.pianogen.org
