Bechstein model?

Post by Surfsupdora »

Hi all, :D

I've just bought my first piano! I've wanted one for over 10 years, but at last it's all come together.

I think I've managed to track down her age (sorry I call it a she); which I beleive is 1890. I'd like to learn more about her history though. I keep hearing about model types. :?

Can anyone help a newbie find her way around?

Best wishes, :)

You may find it helpful to read the information on my own website at www.pianogen.org first if you haven't seen it already, because it provides you with a way into to fifty pages of general advice which is not specific to names. Our active research is aimed at antique British pianos, but we have lots of items on file about Bechstein.

Hi Bill, again.

I did have a look at your site, very interesting. I will admit I didn't have time to read it all.

I have found out though that she is a model 10. I'm very excited to find out some more info on her history.

Thank you for your help and I look forward to reading more from your site and others.
