Brooklyn Piano

Hi!
I have recently acquired an old piano and I would like to know its age. On the keyboard cover it has the name as Brooklyn Piano C London. It also has on the Silencing Stop button the patent number: 3648.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The silencing stop does not help us, it is a device used on different makes of pianos at different times. We know of the Brooklyn Piano Co., originally Green & Savage, a name which sounds like the incredible hulk! The Brooklyn name in itself doesn't tell us much, it was used on their pianos for a long time before the company used it, but "Brooklyn Piano Co." was in use by 1911. If the action was made by Schwander, it will have a number which we can date, but you probably need a technician to remove the action safely to look for it.
