carlberg grand piano
Post by barnsleyboy »
We've seen a grand piano advertised locally. The make is said to be "Carlberg". We've never heard of it. Does anyone know anything about them? The piano seems quite cheap - advertised at £2000, but the owner has already said he'd take £1500 cash.

Thanks for the tip. We'll take a look, and get it checked out before purchase.

I hate to say it, but the owner probably WILL get one and a half to two grand for it; people have this THING about grands and often pay a fortune for a nasty little baby grand when the same money would get them a really decent upright...please consider the sound, not just the look of it - or how many photograph frames you can get on the top...

Just been to see it. We quite liked the sound, but that's compared to our very crappy upright. It was only 4' 1" deep, with quite a lot of cracked keys. Since we've only just started looking, we're not going to pursue this one. Our local shop (Tostevin's) tell us they're getting something much better in in a few weeks, so I think we'll be patient.
