Cramer & Co table piano with metal strips

Post by ARRII »

I would like to know the origin and the destination of a piano table or a five octaves travel piano without strings, but metal strips tuned. The size of the mahogany box is L x 1 m, l 0,50, h 0,25. The hammers strike the metal strips from the bottom to the top. I have some pictures of this instrument by J B Cramer & Co probably made during the 19 th century.
Thanks for answering.

I'm not sure about your description, any chance you could email me some photos? It sounds like a tuning fork piano.
