I bought a Roland HP-2E a year ago and whilst it is fine for beginners, I find the action to be quite poor. It's very light, although at the same time quite sticky so playing fast passages can be very difficult/impossible. The pedal is a simple "on/off" switch, so half-pedalling isn't possible, and the sustain that you get from simply holding a key down is nowhere near as long as with a normal piano - this makes it difficult when switch between the two.
I'm going to be upgrading to an acoustic piano soon, and I really wouldn't recommend you buying a digital piano unless you absolutely have to.
