ALEX STEINBACH - Piano in Australia

Post by phillipa »

Hi,

I am new to pianos, but I am looking at buying a ALEX STEINBACH second hand piano, serial number imho1895. I have two smaller children & want them to have a piano in the house to hopeful breed comfort with the instrument & a love of music. My mum keeps telling me to buy a better piano so that it stays in tune while the children are developing their "ear".

Can anyone tell me about these pianos & how to research the serial number to find out if it is authentic etc? & furthermore an approximate value?

Thanks so much

Phillipa

You would be fare better seeking out your local pianos tuner to look at the piano, the serial number will only give you an approximate age if there was any info on Alex Steinbach which there is not - the condition is more important than the pedigree.

The serial number may yield better results if you look under the manufacturer, Samick rather than the brand name.
