Post by Diana »

Does anybody know? The guy in the shop didn't know and I haven't been able to find out.

Thanks.

Prefixes for Kawai

A = U.S. Production
F = Karawan Production
No Prefixes = Japan Production

Thank you.

I was told this piano was Japanese made. The A is not a prefix to the serial number, it's part of the model number (just to clarify).

I was also told the E stands for ebony but I have since read that the E refers to the tone of the piano (on the brighter side). Does anybody know if this is so?

Sounds fishy to me.

And that's the problem with the older Kawai range. It's so bewildering that nobody really understood it. Add in the fact that often several sizes of piano were made with the same model name and it gets even more complicated.

Kawai have just got their model range sorted. If you can stretch to that K3 you won't regret it.

Hm, thanks. I will try to find out more.

I haven't seen a K3 yet but played the K5, which sounded and felt fantastic.

Re - K-25EA

E is just a model and
A stands for Australia

I would still like to know what other K-25 models there were and how they differ to the K-25E.
