What would you spend a GBP2,000 budget on?

I was thinking along the lines of a new upright and my budget kind of puts me firmly in the Asian manufactured market . I am leaning towards Halle & Voight but any advice would be very helpful. Thanks!

We have just started shopping around in the same price bracket. Halle & Voight were recommended to us as a reputable German (!) piano.
We've been quoted UKP1799 for a modern B1, UKP2599 for a traditional shape. We tried a Kingsburg (Pearl River or Yantai?) which was actually quite fun to play, but very bright.
We would appreciate any recommendations.
Thanks.

Halle & Voight are about as German as a new MG.willowweep4me wrote:We have just started shopping around in the same price bracket. Halle & Voight were recommended to us as a reputable German (!) piano.

The Yamahas are the best in your selection, but a Brodmann would be a very good contender. For the price of a b2 you could bag a BU121 which is Yamaha U1 sized and a very 'grown-up' sounding piano.
The Kingsburg is Yantai-Longfeng from the old Perzina factory and diectly comparable to Halle & Voight. A piano from the current Perzina factory would be a better instrument. About 65% of the components in a new Perzina are now sourced in Europe.
