I inherited a piano and know nothing about it. This is how it reads under the keyboard cover - J&W Shepherd & at Rushey Green, Catford, G.E. Lewisham High Road, London. The serial no. under the top reads 02514. It looks pretty old. Can someone help me determine the age and other information on this paino. Thanks

The firm began in Lewisham around 1884, but was still not in Catford in 1899. By 1911, they were in Catford, and continued there until the thirties. This suggests that yours is a twentieth-century piano. See
