Hello, I would like to find out the age of my piano. It is a John Spencer and Company upright piano. On the top right, when you open the top case, you can find the serial number which starts with the company name in a sort of semi-circle, then just below is a 2c (the "c" is a super-script) and then below is the number 30359. When you open the keyboard cover is you find the John Spencer & Co name on the inside back of the keyboard cover, and then centered and just above the keyboard is what I assume is the name of the dealer- John G.Murdoch & Co Ltd of 53 George's St., Edinburgh. I would really appreciate any leads to the age of this instruments, and any other tidbits of related history. Thank you very much! Sacha Wellborn

The published numbers suggest 1900, but I would say a couple of years earlier. You can email me for a printed report from photos, which costs twenty pounds.
