Great Piano BUT Bad Acoustic.
Hi,
I've got a Yamaha Upright piano. We're happy with the piano tone and touch but it sounds really too loud for comfort. Our technician says the problem is the room acoustic. Even if we get a mellow piano, it'll still be loud. Voicing will not help either because it'll make it mellower but not softer. What the technician says seems to make sense to me. I appreciate if someone gives me a second opinion.

Have you gone the trendy minimalist laminate flooring way of furnishing? If so, it's a major headache with piano sound - all the sound pings off all the surfaces, with no carpet/cushions/curtains to absorb any of the sound. That could be a major part of the problem...we need to know what the piano is, how big the room is, and what the furnishing is.
Then we come round and do a Changing Rooms on you...
