Robert Maver & Son

Post by Roel123 »

Hi! I'm a 20 year old student from Eindhoven, Holland and i'm looking for some information about the following. I can get a piano that was manufactured for Robert Maver and Son. I don't know anything about him so I would like some information about him. And so I know if I should get the piano or not. Great site by the way!

Maver

Maver was around in the mid-1800s, and probably a dealer rather than a maker. Around 1890 the firm became known as Robert Maver & Son. This tells us nothing about the piano excpet that it was probably made after 1890.

Piano Robert Maver

Thank you very much for this information!
I've got another question:
I found something else about a Robert Maver from the book Maver's collection of genuine Scottish melodies. Is this the same Robert Maver or is it someone else?
He's also from Glasgow arouns 1865 so maybe it's the same person i thought.
kind regards,
Roel Peeters
