Ł2500 Budget - What's the best buy Yamaha or Kemble
Hello
I am looking for advice please - I am about to make a purchase and want to make sure I make the right choice
What's the best buy - Kemble Cambridge 10 or a Yamaha P112 - It appears that they are both within my 2500 max budget and widely available.
Given that they are made in the same UK factory is there much difference in build quality or does it come down to personal choice of the sound of each - my understanding is that the Kemble has a more mellow sound compared to the bright sounding Yamaha
I have limited space and need to keep my search down to pianos that are just under 150cm in width - the above just fit at 148cm - I also want the modern style as opposed to the traditional with legs
Thanks

Last year I would have said that the main difference is in tone the Kemble is normally taken down to a softer tone but lately a lot of pianos out of the Kemble Factory have been very bright, its all down to witch you like really at the price you likeTMitchell wrote:Hello

As Barrie has mentioned, recent Kembles appear to be voiced (or not...) just as bright as Yamahas. If you want the best in residual values buy a Yamaha - although the legged traditional versions are more solid in this respect than modern styled pianos. The Cambridge 10 in a satin mahogany is a very uninspiring looking piano, so my personal choice given your preference in case design would be a Yam P112N in a high polish poly finish.
