Range of keyboard
Post by Bill Kibby »
Do you mean "keyboard" in the sense of an electronic one? Chords don't necessarily need a lot of range. A lot depends on whether you are playing every note exactly as it is written? In that case, the range of notes you need depends on what is written, some pieces will fit within 4 or 5 octaves, others need more. If you are opting for the simpler, but limiting method of playing automatic accompaniment on the keyboard, with a single note, a little tiny Yamaha 4-octave keyboard for Ł150 will do. If you are creating your own harmonies and arrangements, the more notes the better! If you're in East Anglia, I may be able to help.
