If it is a Spencer piano, then that IS its identity. As you might expect, the HJP number is just a piano stock number from the retailers, not the makers' serial number. I was Assistant Manager at H&J's Romford branch 35 years ago, but they wouldn't give me dates of their stock numbers. As to the condition, you need someone to look at it.
