Marlow Upright

Post by steved »

I have been offered a Marlow upright piano. I know it was sold new in 1933 (original receipt still available!) in SE London or NW Kent.
Can anyone shed any light on the probable manufacturer or other history? (No sign of any information as regards origin from front access above and below the keyboard - couldn't get to the back)

TIA
Steve

I have nothing ready on computer except the following item, but I'll see what I can find on card and paper files.

Circa 1900 Marlow piano #138,508, which was bought for &96 in 1976. I pronounced it untuneable, so the owner sold to a "friend" for &40, and recommended me to go and tune it! [Who needs enemies!]
