There are other postings for Paterson on this forum which you can read, and "Paterson & Roy" became "Paterson, Sons & Co." some time before 1886. In the twenties, they became "Paterson, Sons & Co. Ltd.". Burling & Mansfield were bought out by Fox & Co. around 1908, but no dates of serial numbers are published. See
