Herrburger Brooks (Langer) front rail pins
Good morning,
I'm looking for information on front rail pins built by Herrburger Brooks in the 80's and 90's.
These front rail pins are a hybrid between American (round insertion shaft diameter) and European (oval portion dimension) sizes, and are impossible to find from suppliers.
The dimensions are:
total length 35 mm (small tolerances are hallowed)
diameter of the round insertion shaft: 4.20 mm
oval dimensions 3.30 mm x 5.10 mm (length of the oval portion 20 mm).
They are found in Herrburger Brooks keyboards in the early 90s, so they were most likely built in the UK; Is it possible that some pieces are still in UK warehouses and available for sale?
I have already tried to ask various suppliers in the UK, also Jahn and some American suppliers, but without success, they seem impossible to find.
I'm looking for information on Langer (who is out of business), but it seems impossible to find; even David Martin who took over this company seems impossible to find.
The only hope is that some tuner/rebuilder still has some in stock and is willing to sell me a dozen (I need a few).
I hope you can help me, and I apologize for my bad English.
Thanks very much,
Best regards,
Gianluca

David Martin is retired. He did have a company called Marwood, but he doesn't keep stocks of old langer parts after he closed Marwood.
I will have a look in my workshop the weekend to see if I can dig some out for you I might even have a full set.
Your other alternative would be to contact some of the English retailers; they may be scrapping an 80s piano and sell you the bat pins

Dear Mr. Heaton,
you are really very kind.
I only need 10 or 15, no more.
These pins really seem impossible to find.
In America they have the round insertion shaft of the correct diameter, but the oval part has different dimensions, and in Europe it is exactly the opposite.
Yes, I could also find pianos to scrap here in Italy and recover them that way, but I would prefer to find them new if possible.
Thank you very much, and I hope you can help me!
