Hello to all, new Australian member here. I have just collected a Robert Allen square piano and thought the images and numbers may be of help to others. I gather from all the previous information (many thanks Bill), that Robert Allen & Sons operated generally between 1840-46. The sellers had no information about the instrument apart from it being purchased in Manchester and then shipped out to Australian in the late 1980s. Regrettably it is without the leg/pedal but one can clearly see where it originally fitted.
Happy to swap further details with anyone seeking information... would also like to hear from others with similar instrument. Thanks again everyone.
