help me date my BLANKENSTEIN piano

good evening everybody.

I'm looking for some information about my piano.

this piano is a BLANKENSTEIN BERLIN THE HALLE PIANO ( there isn't written london & berlin, but only berlin)
I found the serial number, " 16091 ".
infortunately, I still haven't found on the net a list of serials with date of construction .
It's very hard to find some informations about this brand of pianos.

my father bought it at least 10 years ago, and it has never been played.

could you help me to estimate the date of contruction of this piano please?

I probably have more information on Blankensteins than anyone else, but it isn't much. Looking at the pictures, I would have put it around 1905. Externally, it is a typical Edwardian upright, as described at

although superior in being overstrung. My website went down at Christmas, and isn't back on all the search engines yet, but there are estimated dates there, including 1906 for #16000 about a quarter of the way down the page at

What do you think about the value of this piano, in this conditions (it needs a restore) ?

could you tell me something about this brand of pianos? I never found anything on the net. Were them some great pianos at the time, or just some budget ones? Why only "berlin" is specificated on it, and not "london & berlin" ?
according to the photos, do you think that the piano has already been restored, or everything it's original?

The links load in about a second when I try them.

It looks original. Here in Britain, unrestored pianos of this sort of age have very little value, I can't speak for other countries, but my local auction has trouble selling them at all, and they rarely get as much as twenty pounds.

Blankenstein was an average commercial make, not special, but quite useable.

They were a London firm with a German name, and some pianos just say "Berlin", although they were sold in London.
