schreiber piano

I have a schreiber piano that I know nothing about. Any comments gratefully received. Am guessing worth about £200?

We cannot give you a valuation here (see blue header above). For its true estimated value, it depends on the condition and state of the internal working parts (mechanism - hammers/ levers/ dampers etc).... then partly tuned to test the tuning pin torque. Ring your tuner and book a "inspection and valuation" appointment.

This piano looks 1950 - 1960. The numbers you show are not a serial number, but a stock part number - no trace of these numbers.

If you want a quick sale (not been tuned and serviced recently) - try it on Ebay or Gumtree.... put a reserve of £50 on, and see what happens.
The piano is over-strung and under-damped, and has a modern mechanism/ full iron frame. The cabinet looks like walnut, but may just be a 'photo grain' & fabricated.

Some of these pianos have plastic flange bushings, so if any sticking or slow parts - can be a problem.
Other than that, it looks reasonably tidy.

Might be worth more if you have it inspected.
