Something here to interest lovers of jazz - especially piano.
I've just been reading that Michel Petrucciani's piano was up for auction this week in France.
This was the Yamaha C3, purchased by his father for him when he was in his early teens. (Believe the piano therefore would be circa 1974).
Particularities of the piano is a modified pedal and the artist's signature on the frame. The piano had been kept in the same family, and by all accounts was very well maintained.
It was expected to reach between 35-40,000 euros, but was unsold by the end of the auction on Thurs.
It appears that the following day, a bid of 30k euros (£25,300) had been received and accepted.
