I have a question, that probably can't be answered here, but here goes:

Recently, in the last couple of years, I read of someone who bought a Roland RD-1000, as in their 1986 digital piano, brand new, boxed, from a music shop who had it in their basement. For some reason it had slipped through the net and hadn't been sold, and this person was able to buy it as new, at what price I don't know but it wasn't very much. This happened in America somewhere, in about 2008.

My question is, do you think there are many unsold digital pianos from the past, sitting in music shop basements, or is this probably unlikely? Yamaha Clavinovas from the 1980s and 1990s being sold as new, today, sounds pretty unlikely, but does anybody know of cases where this has happened or even been possible? Perhaps there are a few DX-7s and PSR-36s out there that have been pushed to the back of the store room with the intention of selling them, but they've just been lost under a pile of more recent product or something?

I don't even know why I'm thinking about it, it just came to my mind.
