I don't actually sell pianos myself but having spoken to a local dealer recently I can give you an idea, not really in terms of figures though.
In the early 80s the UK experienced a recession and as a result, piano sales were generally very poor until about 1984/5 when a recovery was evident. The late 80s saw a boom before piano sales plummited to their lowest levels since the 50s in around 1992. A slight recovery was experienced until about 1996 when sales have remained steady since then until this day. The slowdown saw the end of a number of British piano manufactures including Knight, Bentley and most recently, Whelpdale, Maxwell & Cod who made Welmar pianos & the like.
