Art Deco Allison Baby Grand - Stool Sought!
Post by machineage »
Well after much searching - I finally found a Walnut Allison Art Deco Baby Grand :)
I know many will scoff at my decision for reasons we all know - but I LOVE this little piano!
It needs some work to the action - but it's in very good condition (pin block - soundboard etc) - and is in remarkably good tune given it was last tuned a couple of years ago.
What I am missing though is the matching stool. In fact I've never seen a matching stool for this particular piano. I wondered if there were any dealers that specialized in older piano stools - or where I could try to find one? Indeed if anyone has seen the stool for this piano which will guide me as to what I'm looking for?
Thanks!

Try haunting eBay - amazing what pops up there. And just put in 'walnut stool', because they're often mis-identified as dressing table stools. Other than that, a specialist dealer like Richard Reason (somewhere near Watford, i think. or maybe Hatfield. Hertfordshire, anyway) who specialises in older historical or art cased pianos.
I play for my own amazement...

Thanks Gill :)
I'm keeping a look out on eBay - and will contact Richard too.
I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future.
Thanks again!

Richard Reason is c/o Piano Auctions too I think
Our mission in life is to tune customers--not pianos.
Any fool can make a piano-- it needs a tuner to put the music in it

Art Deco stool with cane seat in the next Dickins of Claydon auction on the 5th of October. Not an exact match, but it'd do for now! www.dickinsauctioneers.com
I play for my own amazement...
