Wolfframm Dresden
I was just wondering if anyone can provide me with some information on my piano please? It states on it 'Wolfframm Dresden' (I'm assuming that Dresden is in Germany). My Grandfather has had it for 80 years and I was wondering when it was made etc. I've found 2 numbers on the piano which I'm assuming are serial numbers? One is S3463 and the other is S92168.
Any information would be gratefully received. x

Is this upright or grand? Unfortunately, Wolfframm's numbers are not published, and although I have a few rough estimates, the numbers are nothing like these, and, like most, are not preceded by a letter S.
I wonder if yours refer to a retailer's name beginning with S, rather than S for Serial.
Without photos, I can't tell you anything. Can you upload some images here, or email them to me? We would need pictures of the whole piano, unobscured by dogs, stools, vases etc..
Their actions were sometimes made by Schutze & Freund, and numbered. This gives me a clue to the date, but if you are not confident about removing the action safely, ask your tuner.
